Hey there gorgeous friends! It’s the 3rd day of the Style Collective Challenge and today’s particular theme got me super excited!
There’s something about florals that makes me swoon. I think I would be perfectly happy surrounded by dozens of flowers. I think if I wasn’t pursing social media marketing, I would totally be a florist! So naturally, I have a lot of prints with floral motifs.

I’m all about those florals for spring. Cliche, I know. But my personal floral print preference is a mix of top only prints (like in this photo) or full out floral print dresses. I really like a polish look for the dresses – so something that is very flattering, a great length, and elegant. The only problem floral prints is that it can sometimes look too childish. And I don’t mean to say that everyone is going to look childish in an all floral dress, but it really is about how it suits your body. I tried on a dress once that was too loose and it definitely made me look like I was 10 (and I’m already pretty short to begin with). So choose wisely….
But if you are going to be wearing florals I suggest some cute accessories and apparel to go with it. I’m wearing a lovely Francesca’s lightweight skirt in nude. It’s so flowy and lovely! A great alternative is this one. It was perfect for a slightly breezy day because it looks just so beautiful as you are swaying with the wind. The skirt creates a beautiful ethereal look.
I can always trust my t-strap heels (which are super comfortable by the way) to really amp up my whole outfit. I don’t know, i could be wearing sweats and a tank and those heels just magically make it elegant. Not going to try that though.
Floppy hats are my one true love. Not only do they protect my face from the sun (pale people problem) but they are also the perfect chic accessory! So before I go on any further about accessories you can add to a floral outfit, hear me out. I don’t wear layers of jewelry – I don’t even wear more than 1 piece of jewelry at a time. Before heading out with this outfit I actually tried on some necklaces and a pair of earrings with the hat. I took the jewelry out and my whole outfit was less busy.
I believe it was Coco Chanel who said to:
Never leave the house without taking off one accessory
Girlfriend knew her stuff. My outfit was too busy with all those baubles. The hat worked so nicely on it’s own. You don’t need to complicate your accessory strategy. Here are a few of my favorite floppy hats that go well with anything!
I’ve been really loving these style posts and the messages and comments I’ve been getting about them have been so heart warming and lovely. Thank you all so much for your support as I get back to doing more types of theses posts. Being photographed isn’t easy for me – I’m pretty awkward, very shy, but so in love and in touch with my personal style. And I love being behind the camera too and I can’t wait to show you all more of my own photography and adventures around town.
By the way, there’s a very special post coming to you on Friday and I can’t wait to show it to you. Sign up for the newsletter below and get the first access to the resource I’ll be giving out to new subscribers! #ProjectElegance begins.
Can’t wait to see you around! What’s your favorite way to wear floral?
