I was browsing TikTok (the new social application that everyone is obsessed with – including myself) and one of the trendy videos on the app was to show your makeup favorites. It’s been a few years since I’ve shared the products I’ve been apply for my makeup routine.

They can change from year to year because personally, it all comes down to the skin. What my skin is doing can determine what products I end up using for makeup.
For example, I used to always use very heavy foundations with very matte finished because I suffered with severe burn scarring. However since getting micro-needling done, my skin texture has improved so much, that the old foundations are no longer necessary.
So whether you’re simply curious to what I use or are looking for new product recommendations, here are my 2029 makeup favorites

Thanks to brand new skin texture, I’be ditched the heavy foundations for Make Up Forever’s Reboot Foundation in shade Porcelain . I love this foundation because it is an EXACT match to my skin tone, a first for me. It’s also lightweight and easy to layer, hiding all imperfections without feeling greasy or overdone.
Thanks to my Irish vlogger friend, Laura Young, I’ve become an E.l.f Cosmetics loyalist. My favorite concealer is this one in shade Fair Rose. It’s very creamy and easy to blend in. I use it for under my eyes to hide redness and dark circles. I also use it on my chin, and on the outside of my nostrils because those areas get red due to allergies.
For use to set my foundation, I am still using the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent. It’s an old time favorite of mine – never disappoints. I use a fluffy round brush like this one to lightly tap into it and gently apply it to my face.
The Hoola Bronzer is hands down the best! Not too dark, not too light, I use this bronzer only in the summer to extend a sun kissed glow. My skin tone is very pale, so I’m not fooling anyone in the winter and spring. I use this brush to apply very gently across my cheekbones.
Benefit Cosmetics makes a great highlighter. It’s creamy and very easy to plop a finger in and gently pat on the spots you would like highlighted. This highlighter does not work with a regular fan brush, so that is one downside. I just apply to the very “outer ledge” of my cheekbones closer to my ear. And then very slightly on the tip of my nose.
When I purchase the Makeup Forever Reboot Foundation, I also purchased this blush in shade B204. I had sampled it at the store on a particularly gloomy day and it really made me look alive and well! (Thank goodness for makeup). It’s a good standard powder. Nothing terribly impressive – I just like the way it works for my skin ton. They have a few options to choose from in shades so definitely check them out.
Favorite Setting Spray
More like the WORLDS favorite setting spray. The Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray is the choice for me. You can run through a water fall or cry your heart out and your makeup will NOT budge. I use a quick spritz for when I go out. I usually just fan it dry with a lace antique hand fan I have!
It’s still the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in American Doll. The perfect vintage red that has a vibrant color and creamy texture. Just one tip I have, make sure you’ve spent quite a lot of time exfoliating and moisturizing your lips before you put this brand on. It is very drying. I usually do an overnight lip mask, like this one, and follow it up with a good exfoliating session with this fantastic e.l.f product I wrote about a few months back. But other than that, this lipstick is really pretty.
