Happy Bastille Day! Otherwise know as the first day of the storming of the Bastille, an important turning point in the French Revolution.
La Fête nationale (Bastille Day) is celebrated in France and around the world with many festivities including dinner parties and fireworks. The holiday is important because shortly after the storming of the Bastille, feudalism was abolished in France. Although we may not understand the context in which the hold is celebrated, it is a fun holiday for French around the world.
To celebrate this weekend, here are some French inspired recipes you can try!
SAVORY
Cheese and Caramelized Onion Tartine with Fig Jam
SWEET
Galette des Rois (New Year Favorite)
Are you going to try any of these delicious recipes? I have made quite a few of them (and love them) and have not made some. I can’t wait to personally try and bake my own french bread. That would be amazing for a picnic or dinner with friends. What recipes do you think you will try?
