“Dresses for days“ is an Instagram caption that probably should be my motto, am I right?
In my quest for beautiful dresses, I tried on about 30 from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year. And I was not at all disappointed by the wonderful selection which I wanted to share with you today!
This yellow dress from the sale absolutely stole my heart <3 It’s tropical, lightweight, and curves in the perfect places. I have gotten sooo many compliments wearing it. That always makes a gal feed good, you know?
There’s something unique about wearing dresses nowadays. I actually don’t see too many women wearing dresses. Maybe it’s a Chicago or metro city thing? I don’t know. But I always get comments from people telling me it’s a breath of fresh air to see women wearing beautiful dresses. And I agree!
And there’s nothing wrong or judgmental about what you wear, but I personally love a good dress – no matter what the occasion: work, night out, classes. Dresses are feminine and can be so styled to express emotion and personality.
For me personally, I love channeling different eras I’m inspired by via dresses. I wrote a whole post about creating a historical inspired wardrobe here, but it’s just something fun for me, you know?
Best Dresses at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
There were an overwhelming amount of beautiful dresses to try at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year. Like I mentioned in my purchases post, the stylist I worked with brought in over 30 different dresses and I spent a good 3 hours trying them on. I would definitely recommend going in the store if you have time and just have fun trying these sale dresses on!
But if you don’t and you like free shipping, you can always try dresses on at home! I promise you that you will LOVE some of the dresses I saw and linked below. So many amazing dresses and at a great sale price too (including the one I’m wearing)
*Note, everything at this sale is selling out like hot cakes. So if you like something, get it asap. You can always return it for free if it ends up not suiting you.
The perfect accessory for this yellow dress from the Anniversary sale is a straw circle purse! I just love the Tropical vibes of this whole outfit, the only thing missing were espadrilles (of which I desperately need a pair).
Straw is just a natural fit for a dress like this one. The one featured here I got at Francescas (avaliable only in black now)on sale so I’m not sure if it’s the same price anymore. However there are several avaliable to view here in the post I wrote about straw purses under $100!
Overall, I’m very impressed with the selection of dresses at the sale this year. Last year the whole sale was a disappointment to me personally so I was unsure of how I would feel this year. There just wasn’t anything timeless and that didn’t suit my wardrobe needs well.
It’s important to think about clothes strategically because if not, you end up spending money on trends that will look ridiculous in a few years.
You want a dress to last a good run, right?
I know I do. Which is why I love browsing as many as I can to find the perfect ones. And the sale had them! I was very very very pleased.
What do you think of the dresses in the roundup? Do you like them? Have you shopped the sale? I would love to know what you bought or are thinking about buying.
Also, is yellow my new color? I think so!
