How To Black Friday Stress Free (& Still Get What You Want)

Ready to push people out of the way first thing in the morning?

Nope. Me neither

Which is why I’m taking a more elegant and stress free approach to Black Friday. And I hope you’ll join me for a stress free celebration at the end of it all.

Today I’m going to be sharing my top Black Friday tips for the women who just don’t have the patience to be out shopping all day (or all week) for the best deals.

Because ladies – you are missing out on what can be your most relaxing day yet.

Read on!

Make a list and check it twice

So be Santa for a hot minute and write down a list of people you want to give gifts to this year. But I don’t want you to just write down everyone you can think of – including the co-worker you sort of really don’t know or talk to (I mean, you can totally do that if you want).

But gift giving is a sacred ritual and you should really only be giving gifts to those you truly care and cherish for.

Check out my previous post on gift giving here. If you really want to be kind to that co worker, why not come in with a box of joe from dunkin donuts or something? Coffee for everyone!

Cap a budget for gifts

I know it’s tempting to buy someone the best thing out there. It’s even tempting for you to get the best deal on something you really really want but can’t afford. I say this one thing to you: stick to a budget you can actually work with.

Do you know how many people go into debt each year from Christmas spending? Don’t be one of those people. Why not save up so you can spend on some investment pieces later on in the year?

Wake up when you want + shop online

When you shop online, there is little to no risk of stock ever going out. Most businesses will probably have thousands upon thousands of items waiting for online shoppers. Besides, there’s always Cyber Monday too.

So you don’t have to wake up at 4 to be at a store at 6. Why not wake up at 6 and lounge in your PJ’s as you shop instead?

So go ahead and wake up, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and spend the morning browsing your favorite stores online from the comfort of your oh so cozy bed or couch.

Sign up for perks

A lot of retailers will be offering amazing perks when you shop online with them. So if it’s free for you, go ahead a sign up for any great cash back incentives or discounts.

Honestly? The tool I use every year (that’s saved & earned me hundreds) is Ebates. You can find out more about them in my previous post about getting cashback for online shopping.

But basically they work with your favorite online brands to give you a certain percentage of cash back using their link to shop. It’s as easy as a click of a button. And when you sign up and use it for the first time, you get $15 cash back right away!

Don’t forget to order the “extras”

Be a classy gift giver and don’t forget to order beautiful wrapping paper, tags, christmas cards, ribbon, and stocking stuffers.

Nothing beats receiving old fashioned Christmas cards that are thoughtful and heartfelt.

And lastly, once you are done with your Black Friday shopping, sit back and watch some good old fashioned Christmas movies with your loved ones while you eat some leftovers.

What is your Black Friday plan? Are you shopping online or in stores? What is on your OWN wish list? Leave a comment below with your answer.

P.S —

Don’t forget to use Ebates so you have some extra money next time around! It’s so innovative and makes all the difference.

Thanks, Riva! NO ONE should ever feel stressed out. There’s no pressure for you or anyone else to MUST shop for anything. I think we forget that this holiday is a retail one. It’s not a competition to get the best deals. The best deal is your piece of mind 🙂

Love your way of thinking! This is what I do every year, sleep in and then shop online or on Small Business Saturday for all of my gifts. It’s not worth saving the small amount to fight through crowds of people when I can be in my comfiest clothes, on my couch, sipping hot chocolate and listening to holiday tunes.

      Thank you, Karen!

SBS is the best! I would much rather support a small business than contribute to the mass consumerism. I like your idea of hot chocolate and holiday tunes!
