Half of my closet is all BLACK.
I have a problem.
But this problem is helping me dress in a sophisticated and modern way. Yes, I’m all about dresses all the time, but my normal 9-5 business casual wear is usually quite sleek and monochromatic. But black doesn’t have to be boring. Keep reading to find out some chic ways to wear black this fall.
Wear It All The Way
My favorite way to wear black this fall is just to go with it all the way. I love the sleek and sophisticated way black looks on me and I think it’s my go to style. I recently purchased this Chloe & Katie Cut Out V Neck Sweater. It’s really cute and warm and looks great with black pants or shorts with tights under them.
A big concern women have is looking to drab in black. Sometimes wearing the same color all over can wash you out, especially if you are overly pale, like me. Another big concern is looking overly “gothy” although personally, I love the goth look. If you’re worries about going all the way with an all black outfit, consider adding pops of color or different textures to your style so that it isn’t so dramatic. I achieved a sleek look by paying attention to adding different textures and a hint of color with my lipstick and grey purse from Emperia Handbags.
Black Booties Look Good With Everything
I love wearing black booties with my fall looks. They add a level of chic and edge at the same time. I really love mixing edgy and feminine pieces together for a cute experimental look. These Ivanka Trump booties have sold out at Nordstrom but these booties are a great alternative and much cheaper. I had purchased the Ivanka Trump booties during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but like most sales, everything is pretty much sold out now. And reflecting on the sale, I found that everything I purchased on sale went to even A DEEPER SALE only 2 weeks later. I almost wish I had waited!
Lesson? Sales don’t necessarily mean SALE.
Adding Accessories That Are Black
Like I said, my closet is filled with all black, everything.
My most recent purchase is probably my favorite, which are these cute sunglasses from Perverse. They are a bit steampunk looking which fits into my feminine but edgy look. My edgy isn’t the normal edgy, it’s kind of a historic edgy – if that makes sense.
I’ve always loved the dark color of the steampunk look combined with different textures. The best way to wear these accessories are with an all black outfit or a full on monochromatic look in a different color.
