Christmas Gifts I Want But Won’t Ask For

There’s this guilty feeling I get when I get asked the question:

“What do you want for Christmas?”

I freeze up, give a little awkward laugh and say I want nothing and that no one should spend their money or time on something for me. I’m happy and I have everything I want in my life – a roof over my head, food & water, my health, cats…what more could I possibly need or want?

And the truth is, the way the world is right now, I feel guilty for even ordering a small hot chocolate at Starbucks. I feel guilty complaining about the dinner I didn’t like when there are others without food. I feel unimportant and unworthy of any gift.

So what am I supposed to say to that question when I feel too guilty to ask for what I really want?

Because as guilty as I feel. I do want things. Doesn’t everyone?

There’s a few things I’d like to get but I would never ask for. And yes, I could eventually get these things myself. But it would be nice to get them as a gift – maybe I can’t afford it at the moment. or it’s too risky, or too time consuming.

So I decided to share what things I really want but won’t ever ask for. I’m working my way up to be able to get these things. But this Christmas, the timing isn’t right.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment

Apparently this stuff is the elixir of the gods. I’ve heard so many great things about this lactic acid treatment from those dealing with acne, discoloration, dullness, and texture issues. My skin is currently going through a really weird dry and dull spell (probably because I hate winter), and I could really use a good treatment regimen. Plus, I tried a sample of this and it was amazing. Sunday Riley is a fast rising skincare brand. Have you tried it?

A 2nd ME (an assistant)

What I would give to have a second ME helping out for my blog and business. My energy levels are at an all time low this year and being visually impaired means I won’t get to things as fast as other people. I need help with the tech and time consuming times in my business – sending emails, shooting pictures, sales copy, integration, editing. If I could, I’d take on an intern to train but I don’t even have the time and resources to do that. This energy sucking phase means everything moves slower than it should and I’m not able to build momentum.

A Burberry Check Scarf

Ever since I started graduate school, my main focus has been how luxury brands connect to their audiences and use influencer marketing. The first luxury brand I studied was Burberry. It was a natural choice because of my love for British heritage goods. Studying the brand has really opened my eyes to the excellent design and long history of supplying the British public with outerwear. One of the most iconic pieces is their check scarf.

I want to own this piece of history not only because of the design, but as a reminder of my first branding project. Studying Burberry was a pivotal time in my career.

A Holistic Health Coach

From working endless hours on this website to helping my clients with their own brands, my body takes a toll on my schedule – especially with a chronic illness or two. I’d like to have someone take charge for me and not only tell me what to eat or do, but also hold me accountable.

A New Makeup Brush Set

All my brushes are over 7 years old! They are starting to lose their texture. I am also using the same brush for multiple purposes (because I can’t ever find the right fit) and it’s getting messy. I’d love a full brush set like this – because it’s easier to use and I will have a variety of brushes to choose from (especially if I start doing makeup for other people). This makeup brush set has it all but it’s a pricey.

What are some things you really want but won’t ask for? I want to hear from you! Leave a comment below. I hope I’m not the only one that feels like this.

  • Are you into straw purses? At first, I was not into the straw circle purse trend, but now this has become my signature accessory. I get so many question & compliments on this purse so here are my answers:
▪️You have to travel light because this does open on its own if you carry too much
▪️Withstands the rain pretty well - so I will be taking this into fall
▪️To add a french touch, tie a silk scarf around the handle 💕
You can find this purse (plus similar ones) under $100 in the link in my bio or via by following me on the app #LTKunder50 #LTKunder100 #LTKstyletip #LTKsalealert #liketkit

  • QUESTION: Is Fashion Week relevant anymore? 👗🤔 Do you like seeing Fashion Week posts from bloggers?
The other day @jaceyduprie asked her followers a really thought provoking question about whether or not she should attend Fashion Week this year. This amazing post made me ponder my own decision on whether to go or not. A lot of bloggers are asking this question to themselves and to their readers. I'm not alone in thinking: is it even relevant anymore?
I went back to my journalism days to explore this topic in great detail and present arguments for all sides of the FW dilemma.

  • Now I turned this @galmeetsglam dress Victorian 😂 Jk, the house is Victorian. Me? I’m just here to show off all the pretty patterns 🌺🌸
Speaking of patterns, I’d love to know: is there ever such a thing as too much floral? I don’t see many people wearing floral patterns anymore. Thoughts?
