Day 6: Colonial Candles – 12 Days of Bijou Giveaway

Happy December 6th and 6th and day of the 12 Days of Bijou Giveaway!

I can’t believe it’s already the 6th. Seems like yesterday it was just Thanksgiving and we were all on break and there were no finals or assignments due.

Can you tell I’m kind of stressed out today? I have a big 50 page research paper and IMC plan to present today in class and I spent all last night with a massive headache.

I’ve never experienced anything this annoying – at least not since that spinal headache I had during the summer. What made it 10x worse was the fact I knew I was behind on this paper due. All I had was an outline and now I’m spending the rest of my day filling in the little bits and pieces left.

So…how am I powering through this day? By using these amazing prizes of course (I just had to get my own to try them out!)

For not just one winner but TWO!

Yes, two winners for today’s giveaway prize. I teamed up with Colonial Candles to gift 2 winners 3 candles each.

Keep reading to find out how you can enter.

There are three candles included in this giveaway. Here are the scents…

  • Cranberry Spice
  • Holiday Sparkle
  • Winter Woods

When I got my candles I was immediately drawn to Winter Woods (the green candle) because it smells like Christmas trees! And we just got our fresh tree so adding in some more woody scents was perfect. I love the ways these candles glow too.

Colonial Candles has always been a very reliable brand for holiday scents. They’re aromatic, festive, and just out right beautiful. I mean – look at those candle holders! I love the pattern on these as it’s not in just a traditional jar and it doesn’t have a logo plastered all over it.

It’s beautiful – just like what you smell. Beauty and cheer.

  • I meant to get a post out today.. I really did. But when things get messy, I like to step back and just focus my attention on the issue and not tire myself out. This is a huge problem I see when people try to “do it all”. NEWSFLASH: you don’t have to do it all and no one is expecting you to. Go somewhere (or stay indoors) and make sure that YOU are taking care of yourself in some way: meditation, spa, journaling, etc. one of my favorite things to do is walk. And I love walking to the stunning Japanese gardens in the @artinstitutechi 🌳

I love coming here to sit down with my coffee and listen to the water fountains while reading a book. It's a beautiful and serene place in downtown. And it's so lovely seeing everyone enjoy it. What is your favorite serene spot in your city or town? Leave a comment below ❤️ #thepetitebijou #artinstituteofchicago #chicagoigers #japanesegardens

  • I have been a student for what can be best described as "infinity" amount of time. And two degrees, 3 whirlwind majors later, I have a few tricks and tips under my belt about how to survive college. So today I'm sharing 25 of my best tips for not only staying sane - but organized, efficient, and studious. There's some surprising tips there, so do check it out.
I want to know, are you in college right now? Tell us what you are studying ❤️ Are any of you later in life college students?
Here's my journey just in case you feel shy to share:
▪️Spent 5 years in undergrad getting a BA in History & Anthropology. Prepped to study abroad in Britain for my higher degree afterwards
▪️Decided not to pursue a higher degree in History, needed premedical classes I never took.
▪️Applied and accepted into a Post Baccalaureate medical school program. Started my blog during classes.
▪️During this program, couldn't pass Chem or Math (should have known), quit and took gap year doing more internships
▪️Took GRE but got rejected for Marketing and Communications programs due to low "math" score portion of GRE....ok then...
▪️Applied to my last option, got in, and got my Masters in IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications). Best decision ever, should have done it first and sooner.
So you see, it's ok if you're journey isn't doesn't matter. What matters is you find what works for you and you do a great job at it. My journey had ups and downs but in the end, my happiness was priority. #thepetitebijou #collegetips #backtoschool #universitylife #liketkit
