They say elegance is beautiful on the inside and on the out. That elegance can be converted on the outside, however, with the right accessories. We should know how to style them to evoke a lady like air when needed and add a little something special to an everyday outfit. After all, isn’t life luxurious in it’s own way?
1. Skip The Trends
Rose gold rings in the shape of snakes, funky sunglasses, and stacking colorful bracelets like building a pyramid. These things might be trendy right now, but they won’t help your #accessory curation game. While there’s nothing wrong with those trends, they are just that: trends. The right accessory will add a touch of timeless sophistication to your look, something every lady should know.
2. Don’t Try Too Hard
You don’t have to wear that sparkling bib necklace with your Chanel purse, layered stacks of expensive bracelets, Chanel sunglasses, dazzling earrings, and Louboutin heels. C’mon now, that’s way overdone to being anything close to a lady.
A true lady does not flaunt. She does not show off. She masters the art of subtlety = wearing pieces that will get you noticed, not from afar, but when you are near others.
Brand and $$$ does not make a great accessory: the way you style it does
3. Keep it Minimal
True subtlety is keeping things at a minimum. As Coco Chanel once said: never leave the house without removing at least one accessory.
If you want to add a cohesiveness to your outfit: stick with 1-4 accessories with the following formula:
2 pieces of jewelry + 1 pair of sunglasses or a hat (or both for an ultimate minimal look) + 1 bag.
4. Never Go Out Of Style
Never go out of style with this helpful tip: Be yourself. You will never go out of style when you evoke yourself with your accessories. What style do you like? Find some inspiration from the mood and genre and buy accessories that fit your personality and style. There’s no need to go and buy a certain brand if you don’t actually like it.
5. Antique Finds
Elegant ladies love antique finds! Why? Because the styles are timeless and depending where you get them from: usually cheap. I’ve bought some of the nicest jewelry I own for less than $10 at an antique market.
Let me set this straight as well: costume jewelry is your best friend when you want statement for less.
Below are some of my favorite accessories to wear. These never fail to add a touch of elegance and sophistication to my everyday look. They come at a unique range of brands and budgets, so everyone can find something they love.
