Tips & Tricks

What is early access?

Early access gives Nordstrom card holders the chance to shop first and get the best deals before prices rise. Being a Nordstrom card holder also allows you to build double points for specific sale dates. This means you can get more discounts. Being an early access member is ideal – many things sell out the first 3 days and are never put back in stock.

What is public access?

Public access is when non card-holding members may shop the Anniversary sale.

Save time with this trick

Nordstrom offers free shipping and in store pickup regardless if you are a card holding member or not. Take advantage of this resource to save you time and ensure you’ll get pieces that sell out fast. Once they are gone, they are gone.

Best time & place to shop the sale

If you can get early access, shop those dates. For public access, you will want to shop the first 3 days of the sale. The best place to shop the sale is online as more items will be available online than in store.

Cut through the clutter, shop the sale via The Petite Bijou

I will be rounding up only the best and most elegant (& budget friendly) pieces on this page. Check below for category updates as they become available. I will update this page on a daily basis and only link to pieces that you will love – elegant, classic, and worth the price.

  • I meant to get a post out today.. I really did. But when things get messy, I like to step back and just focus my attention on the issue and not tire myself out. This is a huge problem I see when people try to “do it all”. NEWSFLASH: you don’t have to do it all and no one is expecting you to. Go somewhere (or stay indoors) and make sure that YOU are taking care of yourself in some way: meditation, spa, journaling, etc. one of my favorite things to do is walk. And I love walking to the stunning Japanese gardens in the @artinstitutechi 🌳

I love coming here to sit down with my coffee and listen to the water fountains while reading a book. It's a beautiful and serene place in downtown. And it's so lovely seeing everyone enjoy it. What is your favorite serene spot in your city or town? Leave a comment below ❤️ #thepetitebijou #artinstituteofchicago #chicagoigers #japanesegardens
  • A feel good fall bucket list just in time for the first day of fall! The latest post on ThePetiteBijou.com goes over 15 different activities and simple practices to try this fall for the ultimate feel good season. This time of year is also one of renewed and serenity. Why not try something new? I'm personally embracing #1 on the list which is: HYGGE.

  • Bringing 50s style to the cathedral. Much #Grantchester vibes. Anyone else watch mystery shows set in the 50s? I love Grantchester and Father Brown. All the characters look so smart in their period clothing! For an easy breezy 50's look, I love putting on a gingham dress paired with my oh so comfortable Oxford sneakers. It's a timeless look that makes city adventures fun and fashionable. Check out outfit details via the link in my bio ❤️

  • First it was the Gish sisters, then Ginger Rogers, then President Kennedy, and now The Petite Bijou! Honored to have stayed at @theblackstonehotel hotel and I'm taking you behind the scenes of this historical Chicago hotel in my first ever travel series on the blog called The Bijou Guide to Historical Chicago!
.
This hotel opened in 1910 and it still has all the glitz, glamour, and original history inside and out. From the grand lobby (featuring a lovely typewrite I'm obsessed with) to the private rooms and suites. This hotel oozes luxury and history that I shared in the latest blog post. Here's my journey just in case you feel shy to share:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▪️Spent 5 years in undergrad getting a BA in History & Anthropology. Prepped to study abroad in Britain for my higher degree afterwards
▪️Decided not to pursue a higher degree in History, needed premedical classes I never took.
▪️Applied and accepted into a Post Baccalaureate medical school program. Started my blog during classes.
▪️During this program, couldn't pass Chem or Math (should have known), quit and took gap year doing more internships
▪️Took GRE but got rejected for Marketing and Communications programs due to low "math" score portion of GRE....ok then...
▪️Applied to my last option, got in, and got my Masters in IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications). Best decision ever, should have done it first and sooner.

So you see, it's ok if you're journey isn't standard...it doesn't matter. What matters is you find what works for you and you do a great job at it. My journey had ups and downs but in the end, my happiness was priority. #thepetitebijou #collegetips #backtoschool #universitylife
