Today is the day! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is public access which means anyone can shop all the lovely beauty products avaliable.
During Early Access, I got a few much needed skincare and makeup from the sale like my cherished peel pads! The sale is the best time to get access to early fall beauty products which will have a price increase after the sale is over. The Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads are quite the investment, so getting them now was important to me (this particular package has a 2 for 1 deal).
I was not very impressed with the makeup selections from the sale. I wish they had more. But I do like all the hair care and skin care products available. This fall there’s definitely more emphasis on taking care of your skin with minimal makeup.

I did an unboxing of this video on my IGTV because I thought it would be very beautiful at first sight just based on the packaging. And it is beautiful. What I really like about this palette is that the colors are pigmented but subtle. They definitely stay put and are obvious enough to know you’re wearing something, which I always appreciate. Other palettes just don’t do the same sometimes.
This Bobbi Brown palette also contains some of the eyeshadows and blushes that the Duchess of Cambridge uses! I was so excited because I couldn’t find slate or ivory locally in stores around me until this palette came along. Kate used those for her wedding day makeup.
I have been a fan of Drybar for years and last year at the sale I purchased a similar set. I still use the curling iron occasionally but the products I use every time I style my hair: straight, curly, whatever! My favorite spray included is Triple Sec, which is a texturizing spray. It smells amazing and really works.
By the way, is Drybar a company you’ve tried? I’d love to know!
Elemis was introduced to me by Youtube Lydia Millen in one of her videos, so naturally I had to try it out! I am a huge fan of theirs and this face wash is a great everyday gentle soap to wash off your the rest of your makeup and oil. The best part? It’s huge, so it will last a bit.
Ok, I have to admit, I love everything Lydia shares including this amazing facial brush that pulsates to remove dirt and makeup from pores. I like how this brush also feels like a mini massage, which is always great for helping with natural contouring. The play set that comes with this is good for the gym or for travel (which is what I would totally use for haha).
Also the set Kate used on her wedding day for a lovely summer glow! I swatched this set at the early access sale and it was very subtle but glowy. Definitely sweep all the colors together so that you get the best highlight. Even the golden deep colors go on very light.
One day I approached the Bobbi Brown counter at our big Macy’s in downtown Chicago. I didn’t even know that the brand made any skincare products. The lovely sales associate there (who I still remember and cherish for introducing me to this) put the moisturizer on my face before doing my makeup. Within just a few seconds my face felt very smooth. The foundation and everything else went on so lovely.
If you can’t get your hands on this set, I do encourage you to at least go and find a sample of everything included because you will not be disappointed!
My last marketing paper was 20 pages about the Tom Ford beauty market in Japan! I love this brand and so do many other people around the world. Their signature is definitely the perfumes, but a hidden gem is the lipsticks and the eyeshadows. It’s classic reds and purples that are rich and velvety. Sounds lux doesn’t it? Well it is! Lux for lips and eyes.
If you ever watch youtube makeup videos, you’ll see these oval brushes. But they are very very pricey! I think the set online I saw once was close to 1k? You get to try 2 of their oval brushes in this set which I think is an interesting experience! I certainly want to see what all the hype is about.
This was another product that after trying it once, I just used until this very day. I love this serum – it does something. Not sure what, but it does. I always wake up with very moisturized skin, something I have trouble with sometimes. My scars from Steven Johnsons Syndrome always tighten and dry out my face so it’s important to keep it hydrated. This serum does just that and I use it everyday.
This is the HOLY GRAIL of skincare. Dr. Dennis Gross has made me a believer in peel pads and it’s just so revolutionary to have a peel everyday of the week. I can listen to Dr. Dennis any day of the week because everything he says about skin is liquid gold: soak it up and listen! I use these everyday and the results have been incredible. Combined with the serum above, I get the perfect glow without any sort of harsh acidic peel.
Which product or set are you interested in? You can’t go wrong with any of these but my personally preference and opinion is: if you have to purchase one of these things, either go for the Bobbi Brown set or the peel pads. Both of them are extraordinary products!
